Description
Nearly 40% of Hungary's energy consumption is accounted for by the population and buildings used by the population (residential buildings). This ratio is similar in the Member States of the European Union. One of the objectives of the new recast of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD 2018/844) is to promote the improvement of the energy performance and cost-effectiveness of buildings in European (EU) countries, taking into account the climatic conditions of the given region, the requirements for indoor air quality and thermal comfort of the space served. The energy consumption of buildings can be determined in two ways. In the case of existing buildings, the actual consumption data can be accurately determined by measurement. Based on Directive 2002/91/EC, it must be possible to determine the expected annual energy consumption of the building even in the design phase. Nowadays, developers and designers working in the field need detailed data that answers their individual questions already in the initial phase of research, development and design work, and that can be used to make decisions more easily on building energy design issues (e.g. cooling, heating, ventilation, etc.). Building energy designers and experts have an extremely high responsibility when designing a building's energy design in the design phase, before construction and implementation, and in the case of buildings already in operation, when making expert recommendations for the most efficient energy renovation. To this end, it is essential to further develop current energy design methods and expand manufacturers' technical data services, which enable energy studies that are closer to reality and provide results for developers, experts and design engineers working in the field of building energy. This is where this scientific book comes into play, providing effectively applicable design methods for the energy-conscious design of air conditioning systems.
