Description
Artmagazin's articles are published in the field of contemporary and classical art, focusing on Hungarian and international events, research, trends and trends. Our interest extends to border areas: fashion and design are as much a topic here as the connection points between theater, architecture and music. ARTMAGAZINE 130. Our cover page is not tied to any article, it only applies to us, that is, how intense the work has been in the last months and weeks, how many plans have been made to reshape Artmagazin. The basics have remained, of course, but a lot of small components have changed, all for the sake of the readers, taking into account the editors ’perspectives as well. So here we immediately thank the staff on whom the look of Artmagazin and the articles in it depends: Csilla Horváth, our graphic artist and 2L studio, Richárd Lakosi and Krisztián Lakosi. And, of course, to Róza Tekla Szilágyi, who coordinates the joint work. He is already at home now on literary issues, as he interviewed about the upcoming Fortepan Masters book compiled by Szabolcs Barakonyi and designed by Péter Salát Zalán. Incidentally, we are also grateful to Fortepan for compiling each issue, this time for photos of the Southern Railway Station in its heyday, but also for other photos of the building. With these, we can justify why it would be worthwhile to protect the modern architectural heritage that is currently undergoing almost systematic destruction. Our article is about the destruction of heritage, which explains why the old Goat-legged bridge in Győr is shown in a Schiele picture. We try to get rid of an unwanted legacy by listing the types of false Szinyei images, but we also write about a positive legacy: our author brings out the spirit of the former Institute of Folk Culture in connection with one of the images of Imre Bak. Our summary describing new geometric tendencies also looks at the current works in the light of the Hungarian geometric art tradition of the seventies, ie it examines the new style features in comparison with them. But the art of Judit Horváth Lóczi, Sára Sebestyén and Anikó Robitz is also three different paths - although all three start from geometry and lead to sensitivity. In this issue, too, we return to the Pre-Raphaelites: we now examine what life the models of the painfully beautiful heroines of the canvas actually lived, what was new in the relationships that connected them to each other and to the men. Recent research has shown that their role was not only to lie in a tub of cooling water until, say, pneumonia, but they were also co-creators or just managed their husbands ’assignments. The dissatisfaction with the fate of women in the background is suggested by the author of another article: the violinist who gave up public performance after her marriage - is that why she looks so sad even at the portraits she depicts with a violin in her hand? Even though he was painted and drawn by a number of artist friends, did he have a well-started career? A hundred years have passed and, fortunately, giving up women’s careers because of marriage is no longer a social expectation in this part of the world. Moreover, in other landscapes, women's power spaces may emerge, such as the recently opened contemporary art exhibition venue and institution, which refutes all prejudices that are still strongly present in the public perception here, so it was founded and operated by a woman. , who could be on any Vogue cover page, while also the heiress of a huge international company empire of Hong Kong origin and the founder of her own businesses. This combination has yet to be digested by the Hungarian mainstream press - provided it reaches their stimulus threshold that a breakthrough has taken place in all respects.
